R/C Solid State D-Switch $24.00 -- $30.50
Part #RCE200

These nifty devices let you turn something on and off from a regular R/C channel. They're lighter, faster and more reliable than using an R/C servo to knock into a microswitch. A DIP switch block provides four threshold positions to set the device trip point and an LED indicates the status of the link: unpowered, powered but no signal, valid signal but not active and activated. Microprocessor controlled and digitally filtered, the D-switch also employs fault detection to safely switch off the load if the receiver signal is lost, making it a true failsafe. The unit is powered entirely by the receiver, drawing only 13 ma. The switched load is electrically isolated from the R/C circuit, allowing two completely separate gounds to run without coupling noise between them.

(Note to boaters running 6 volts on their receivers: placing a small 1N4004 diode in series with the power lead to the RCE200 will drop the volt or so necessary to let the D-switch run happily on your system. Simply request the extra diode when you order!)

  • RCE200L 60 volts, 5 amps DC - ($24.00)
  • RCE200H 60 volts, 10 amps DC - ($30.50)

R/C Relay Switch $33.50
Part #RCE210
Data Sheet (33K)

Take the advanced control firmware of the RCE200 solid state D-switch and mate it with a big 'ol relay and this is what you get! Switch up to 24 amps on and off with one receiver channel. Just like its smaller brother, there are four stick threshold positions.

Minimal soldering required - make those high current connections with 0.250" female quick disconnects right on the relay. 12ga wire crimps are even included.

Fault detection safely switches off the relay if receiver signal is lost. But do note that since it's mechanical, it won't protect you from welded relay contacts.

1.75" x 2.50" x 1.25"   Weight 2oz .

R/C Contactor Set $92.50
Part #RCE218
Data Sheet (59K)

Here's a good solution to switching high current brushed Etek and Magmotors - the massive White Rodgers solenoid! The silver alloy coated contacts are good for 200 amps continuous or 600A inrush. Large 5/16-24 copper studs connect to your motor.

It comes pre-mated with an RCE200L D-switch so you just supply coil voltage, wire to your motor and plug into your Futaba radio receiver (Futaba lead included.)

Available in 24, 36 and 48 volt configurations. Recommended mounting: vertical plane with coil terminals up. Weight 25oz.

Note: If you want to see the WRONG type of relay to use, click here. My experience with these is the contact bounce is unacceptable for robot building. Beware!

If you wish to purchase the solenoid only (without the prewired D-Switch, you can. Sold in the 24 volt coil only ($60.50).

R/C Dual Ended Switch $38.50
Part #RCE220
Data Sheet (51K)

Switch two relays on and off with one transmitter stick! Normally open and normally closed solder points are provided for each relay. You can drive two independent motors, contactors or pneumatic/hydraulic solenoids. Plus a simple wiring configuration also converts this to a mechanical H-bridge which is perfect for running a single linear actuator or motor in both forward/off/reverse.

When used with an actuator, optional inputs from limit switches permit you to arrest motion in either direction. The silver cadmium oxide relay contacts offer you a maximum motor/coil load of12 amps at 30 VDC (inductive).

Fault detection safely switches off both relays if receiver signal is lost. Dimensions: 1.85" x 2.70" x 1.10"

Weight: 1.4 oz.

Bigger Dual Ended Switch $48.00
Part #RCE225
Data Sheet (72K)

This is the bigger brother of the amazingly popular RCE220. Same idea, just 24 amp (inductive load) relays and no soldering - all load connections via 0.25" spade terminals (which are included).

3.25" x 2.4" x 1.25"
Weight: 3oz

10" Futaba Servo Lead $3.75
